But there have many changes that were implemented despite these leaders - EVM, Voter-ID, Electoral Affidavit of Court cases, RTI etc. Men like Sheshan or Sreedharan can turn things around quickly. Beyond this however comes the decisive role of 'common man'. That's the subject of my future post(s). Its true that the political leaders don’t want to end corruption. So that sounds like a great modus operandi to get rid of corruption, but what your article completely misses is that fact that nobody wants to get rid of corruption. Why would the leaders want to get rid of corruption? Its the same golden goose that feeds them, why would they kill it? Hasn't that been the really story of corruption in India since Independence?
